The name Patrick Mameli should be familiar to most as the guiding force behind the then Dutch masters of Death metal Pestilence, but a name the majority will not of heard in nigh on a decade and a half. Since the demise of Pestilence Mameli locked himself away in musical seclusion; that is until now. With a rekindled passion for music, Mameli and some of Metal's most technically proficient and well respected names have banded together to form what is C-187. 

C-187 really is a whose who of of Metal, with Sean Reinhert (Death) and Tony Choy (Cynic) making up what can only be one of the finest rhythm sections ever to breath air; to which Mameli lends his more than capable skills as main man and guitarist. One thing is for certain with these three minds behind any project it is safe to assume a cacophony of technical metal al la 2007 will be forced upon us.

Sweden's Tony Jelencovich provides his more than commanding vocal talents to the proceedings, and for anyone familiar with Mnemic or B-Thong will already have an expectation of the aural assault that awaits.  As is always the case with such a melting pot of talent, the combination of styles are to numerous to number; and C-187 are no exception. The fusion of Metal with Jazz, a flavour of hip-hop beats and more than just a slight twist of Alan Holdsworth all make up "Collision's" unique sound.

"Collision" won't be to everyone's liking that is for sure; the merging of styles and sounds will be muddled and alien to some. The jazz timings of many of the songs will not lend itself readily to the foot tapping brigade, as there aren't to many four beat tunes on offer here. For those however who appreciated the diversity of the Mameli, Choy and Reinhert's previous releases will find a new home here, as "Collision" is a amalgamation of all of these styles with a 2007 twist.
